NMC have decided to launch a new Test of Competence from April 2021. Candidates will be start testing with the new Test of Competence from April 2021\u00a0onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>How the tests will be changing <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>The computer-based test (CBT)<\/strong>\u00a0will be split into two parts &#8211; Part A: Numeracy and Part B: Theory.<\/li><li><strong>The objective structured clinical examination (OSCE)<\/strong>\u00a0will have 10 stations:<ul><li>Four stations will continue to be linked together around a scenario: the APIE (one station for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).<\/li><li>Four stations will test skills.<\/li><li>Two new stations will be introduced &#8211; one will assess the candidate\u2019s values and behaviours and the other will assess evidence-based practice.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>OSCE marking criteria\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; each station will be assessed against specific criteria and with a holistic judgement.<\/li><li><strong>Test content<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 as well as developing new content, NMC completed a thorough review of the current test content &#8211;
