UK NMC Accept Computer-based OET and OET@Home for overseas trained nursing and midwifery professionals

The UK Nursing and Midwifery Council has announced that they will accept computer-based OET results on a computer at test venues and OET@Home, the OET’s new computer-based English language test which can be taken from your home.

Qualified overseas nurses, midwives, and nursing associates whish to join UK Nursing and midwifery council register have to meet their English language standards through either taking an International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Occupational English Test (OET), or a pre-registration nurse, midwife or nursing associate qualification which was taught and examined in English.

The OET will now offer candidates the option to take the OET test from the comfort of your home, using their own computer. The format and material for the OET@Home test will be the same as those taken at test centers.  

From September candidates to have three options to take their OET test

a) OET on paper

b) OET on a computer at a test venues

c) the home-based OET@Home

The cost and results wait time will remain the same.
